Audit log events retention limited to 12 months
4 days ago by Louis Barranqueiro
Starting February 25, 2026, audit log events will be retained for a maximum of 12 months. Events that occurred more than one year ago will no longer be accessible via the API and will be permanently deleted from our system. This applies to all events dated before February 25, 2025. This change helps ensure faster and more reliable access to audit logs while aligning with standard data retention and compliance best practices.
This change will affect the following API endpoints and resources:
- For all endpoints returning Ticket resources, the
Ticket.events(deprecated attribute) will only contain events that occurred in the last 12 months. - List events endpoint (
/api/events) will only return events for the last 12 months. - Retrieve an event endpoint (
/api/events/:id) will only return an event if it occurred in the last 12 months or return a 404 Not Found HTTP error.
This change will also affect our helpdesk and mobile app. The audit logs page and audit log events displayed in tickets will only include events that occurred in the past 12 months.
